Gardena, CA - SPLAT Magazine, on sale May 1st, and 7-11 have signed a distribution agreement to have paintball's newest, most dynamic magazine sold and prominently displayed at all 4,500 U.S. stores of the convenience giant. We have arranged to be in 7/11's exclusive Hot Pocket program, said SPLAT publisher Michael Neveux. This premium sales position and the huge number of other store chains (which will include K-Mart, Winn Dixie, Circle K, Safeway, Rite Aid, Target, Piggly Wiggly etc.) we will be in will give SPLAT the highest visibility and best distribution any paintball magazine has ever had.

Recent data reveals that in the U.S. paintball is played by more that 8 million people yearly and nearly one million people play on a regular basis. As an extreme sport, paintball recently overtook snowboarding in yearly participants. The paintball sections in a number of high profile sporting good chains are expanding and Wal-Mart sells approximately 60 million worth of paintball-related equipment per year.

Written by paintball's most knowledgeable insiders, SPLAT's columns and features will cover the sport from the woods to the tournaments, from paintball politics to in-depth equipment reviews, from pro seven-man strategies to hot fashion shoots.

Premiering in May 2003, each bi-monthly issue of SPLAT will provide the new, mid-level, and experienced player with the kind of info that will not only help them play better, but make them want to play better. "We want to inspire, educate, and most of all entertain the heck out of the 8 million plus paintball playing public." SPLAT is also high on humor and attitude.

With a background in sports photography himself, Neveux has made SPLAT's photography and graphics a priority. "SPLAT will also have the best photography in paintball period. We actually intend to illustrate our stories with unique images guaranteed to make everything and everybody look their best, not the standard tournament images all the other publications constantly use."

" Look at us as the Maxim of paintball." SPLAT has brought in sports editor Al Austin as its editorial point man and graphic artist Terry Bratcher for heavy artillery in art direction. Long time professional paintball player Glenn Forster (of Avalanche and Dynasty fame) will head up the advertising team.

"With the signing of the 7-11 agreement, this will help us deliver to the paintball public a long overdue magazine that truly reflects the fun and excitement of our exhilarating extreme sport," said Neveux. Don't miss out on this historic premiere issue, on sale May 1st. Neveux encourages writers, photographers, product manufacturers and paintball facilities to contact SPLAT.
